Student Furnished Course Supplies/Prerequisites: Road or Mountain Bike suitably equipped for general road biking

Course Description: This group, focused on road biking (as opposed to Mountain/Trail biking), will meet weekly for instructor-led discussions on biking skills including maintenance, group riding disciplines, and interesting areas to visit. Each week will feature talks by local biking experts on various bicycling subjects and interests and some riding skills. We will organize and schedule outings in the Logan area for all bikers in the Summer Citizen Community. Riders are encouraged to join this group to meet other biking residents of the diverse community and participate in group activities.

Course Instructor: Alexandra Bobella is currently a senior at USU, majoring in Biology and Religious Studies. When she is not in class, she is working as a bicycle mechanic and community outreach coordinator for Sunrise Cyclery. She began wrenching two years ago, first as an apprentice and then as an experienced mechanic. She has since spent thousands of hours hoping to bring the joy of bicycling to others, while creating a better and safer Cache Valley. She also coordinates community rides in Cache Valley as well as working on clean air projects. She rides over 2500 miles a year.
