Course Description: Join Curator Cannon for an exploration of this ancient caravan-city situated in one of the world's driest regions between the Dead Sea and the Red Sea on the Arabian Peninsula. Throughout the course, we will work with Nabatean material culture from the Museum of Anthropology's collection to understand more about daily life in the city of Petra. Some of the questions that we will explore include: what natural resources were available to the Nabateans, how did they manage their water supply in the Jordanian Desert, and how does the material record reflect the geography of this ancient city?
