129 - How to Optimize Your Android Phone or Tablet

Student Furnished Course Supplies/Prerequisites: Android smartphone or tablet.

Course Description: This class will cover how to get your email, contacts, calendar, and documents on a device. We’ll cover how to star frequently used contacts and quickly find them and how to view your call log and save the numbers to your contacts. We’ll learn about apps, widgets, and customizing your home screen. We’ll review the settings and learn to set ringtones, volume, wifi, bluetooth, and GPS, including checking your data usage. We’ll also discuss battery monitoring and management, security apps, locking your phone, and other popular apps. You must bring your own Android phone or tablet to this class.

Course Instructor: Cathy Oberkampf has been a trainer/facilitator for 30+ years. Cathy has taught over 10 years in the Utah State Summer Citizens program, was a trainer and training manager at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX, and taught at Habitat for Humanity International for a number of years. She also teaches at her church and at other non-profit organizations in her hometown of New Braunfels, TX where she now resides again.
