Course Description: From the Wright Military Flyer to modern fighter aircraft, planes have affected and prevented wars, and changed the course of history. Military aircraft have also set many records, amazed crowds at airshows, and helped develop many technologies we use every day. Day one will cover the early years through World War I aircraft. Day two we will review World War II. Next will be the Cold War with Korea and Vietnam. Finally, we will cover modern aircraft and advanced technologies. This class will prepare participants for a trip to the Hill Air Force Base Museum, a great course compliment on Friday.

Course Instructor: Andreas “Baron” Wesemann is an assistant professor in the Aviation Technology Program. He arrived at USU in 2015 after more than 27 years in the U.S. Air Force. While serving in the Air Force, Wesemann worked as an instructor pilot in five different aircraft, taught German at the Air Force Academy, and instructed at Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training. His professional interests are in areas related to aviation, including curriculum development, leadership and ethics in the cockpit, and safety and risk management systems.
