115 - Aging Gracefully: Nutrition Health Hacks to Support Longevity of the Mind and Body

Course Description: Wondering how food and supplements can support optimal health at all ages? This 1 week course will focus on different aspects of the aging process that we are able to support through a healthy diet and lifestyle, with an emphasis on brain health. Classes 1-4 will be educational lectures, and will emphasize Attention, Memory, Mood, and Muscle Mass. Class 5 will be a cooking demonstration of several relevant recipes, so students can see how to put their new knowledge to work in the kitchen! General nutrition tips, tricks, and literature will be provided at each class.

Course Instructor: Karlie Mountjoy, MScN, is a Nutritional Health Coach at Natural Grocers. She received her M.S in Naturopathic nutrition at the University of Natural Medicine in Portland, OR, where she graduated in 2017. Her work with Natural Grocers focuses on nutrition education through individual coaching sessions and community classes. Karlieā€™s goal is to empower individuals to take charge of their health by 1) providing education on the nutritional needs and functions of the human body, and 2) helping them to be more comfortable preparing wholesome foods that support optimal health.
