Course Description: President Kennedy’s assassination has become a controversial event and we’ll look at both sides. The Warren Report is the government explanation showing how Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone gunman and there was no conspiracy. Over the last 50 years, hundreds of private researchers have uncovered information not stated in the report. Why did JFK go to Dallas? Who was Lee Harvey Oswald? What is the evidence of the single bullet theory? Was Oswald a patsy as he stated? Tom Westre researched the assassination for 20 years and visited Dallas in 2013 at the 50th anniversary of the event.

Course Instructor: Tom is a retired public high school teacher, where he taught US History. He met JFK in 1962 when the President came to South Dakota to dedicate the Oahe Dam on the Missouri River. He recalls the day the President was assassinated and when the Warren Commission came out in 1964, he believed it. When the Oliver Stone film came out, he began to research the assassination. He’s made strong conclusions about what happened that day. Tom visited Texas in 2013 for the 50th anniversary of the assassination. Tom used the event to help his students understand results of the Warren Commission and in-depth results of 50 years of research. Tom will cover both sides of the issue and help students understand this complex event.
