Course Description: This new class will discuss many of the men (prior to 2016) who ran for President of the United States but were not elected. Many of the men to be discussed were the nominee of their political party, but some may have attempted unsuccessfully to obtain the nomination. Prior to modern times party conventions were strong determining factors in selecting a candidate. Sometimes it took many ballots to select a nominee and the nominee may have been a compromise candidate. Come and learn about unsuccessful candidates.
