Course Description: How many of you have heard someone say “I can’t sing” or have even said it yourself? IT’S NOT TRUE! Well, maybe it is at the moment but that can quickly change. The reality is we can learn how to sing. Very few people sing well from the start and even those few end up getting voice lessons or coaching along the way to improve. I have worked with students who you would call “tone deaf” but they worked hard and ended up singing in recitals 1-2 years later. There are two parts to learning how to sing: 1) ear training and 2) vocal technique. This class will focus on both of these skills. We will also discuss and practice taking good care of your voice. By the way, I’m in my 60’s and my singing is still very strong, so don't let age stop you!

Course Instructor: Warren Kunz created a music studio near Seattle teaching piano/voice lessons to 500+ students. He also taught college ear training, was active in 2 music teachers’ groups, and received a State Hall of Fame teaching honor. His fascination with world music also led him to collect and learn to play many instruments. He completed a graduate degree in World Music Pedagogy from No. Ill. Univ. and studies/plays wind and percussion world instruments. He has taught USU and NIU world music classes. kunzmusicstudio@comcast.net – Teaching music to facilitate cultural awakening in our communities
